China Glaze Emerald Sparkle

0

This is the beautiful China Glaze Emerald Sparkle which is from a few holiday collections back. It is the green relative of ChG Ruby Pumps and is one of my favorite polishes that China Glaze has ever released.

This is 2 coats of Emerald Sparkle and stamped with GOSH Metallic Green, one of my favorite polishes for stamping!

This is what I wore for St. Patty's day, so this ends the green posts! Check back tomorrow for a very special polish!

China Glaze Glittering Garland & Sinful Colours Green Ocean

0

This green is beautiful! Applies perfectly in 2 coats and did not stain my nails! Then I decided to add a coat of SC Green Ocean flakies which showed up a bit too blue for my liking, but oh well.
I'm a bit behind in blog posts, the next few posts will be the manicures I wore leading up to St. Patricks Day.

China Glaze Foie Gras

0

This is the last of The Hunger Games Polishes that I have that I have worn (have another one or two untried).
This is Foie Gras, a lovely purpley-grey cream. It applied like a dream, perfect in 2 coats.
I'm a big fan of colours in this vein, such as Revlon Perplex, China Glaze Below Deck, etc. They are edgy but neutral. If you don't have anything like that in your collection, you need one, or twenty!

China Glaze Agro

0

Here is another polish from the China Glaze Hunger Games Collection. This is Agro, a lovely metallic olive green. It is similar in colour to China Glaze Peace On Earth which came out in the 2010 holiday collection. Please excuse the tip wear in these photos!

Shown is 2 coats of polish. This applied very well but due to the nature of the finish, did look a tad streaky. Lovely none the less!

My Hunger Games Manicure: China Glaze Electrify

0

This was the most interesting of the Hunger Games Polishes to me, which is why I chose it to wear for when I went to see the movie (yes, I'm a dork like that)!

Under the low lights of the theatre, this polish GLOWED like embers. SO pretty!

This was three coats of glitter, 2 coats of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite

I have some thought on the movie and more pictures of this manicure, but I will hide them behind the cut as there will be some spoilers!

China Glaze Riviting!

0

Let me just say WOW while we drool at these pictures for a minute...

This polish MORE than made up for my disappointment with Smoke and Ashes. I never ever wear orange nail polish but this just jumped into my top 20, dare I say maybe even my top 10!
Middle two pictures are most colour accurate.
Perfect in two coats.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this polish!

China Glaze Smoke & Ashes

0

This was the first of the China Glaze Hunger Games polishes that I wore and let me say, son I am disappoint. I was so excited about these polishes as I am a HUGE fan of the books and you betcha I have tickets to the movie tonight! This polish was just a little disappointing.

This looks like a beautiful dark teal with lots of green-teal-blue sparkle but I found it fairly boring on the nail, nothing that special, and most of the time it was hard to tell if it was anything more than a basic black.

It's one redeeming quality? This is a one coater.

More manicures from the Hunger Games line to follow!

China Glaze Some Like It Haute

1

This is a gorgeous polish!

This was released with the China Glaze Eye Candy collection that came out around the holidays. It was a great collection of glitters!

This was 3 good coats to get the polish opaque. It was a little bit goopy but worth it! The only problem with that is that it makes the polish thick on your nails and then it chips a bit easier. If you're like me and change your nails every 2 days or so, this isn't an issue.

Sally Hansen has an exact dupe for this polish with the Gem Crush collection called Glitz Gal.

Urban Outfitters - Bar Stool & Holographic Stamp

0

This polish was a complete surprise to me! I found it at Urban Outfitters and I'm pretty sure it is their house brand. It was great in 2 coats. I stamped it with China Glaze OMG using one of my Konad plates (don't have it with me to verify the number, sorry!). This plate was a bit of a pain and I found it easiest to do each side of my nail individually.

I suck, I suck, I suck!

0

I know I have been MIA for the last month - I've just been busy busy busy! I have still been painting and photographing each manicure though, so expect a slew of posts over the next few days!

This is a copy cat manicure - I 100% copied this from the lovely Erika of Chloe's Nails. She is one of my favorite bloggers and her pics are gorgeous! She posted this manicure and I fell in love!

This is China Glaze Purple Dragon, which is a neon finish (can be lumpy because of the glitter, needs a good thick topcoat) and a Funky Fingers crackle called Teal Scales. This is the first Funky Fingers crackle I tried and I am impressed! I found it easiest to do fairly thin coats.

Enjoy! And Check back over the next few days while I post catch up posts!

China Glaze Skyscraper!

0

Here is China Glaze Skyscraper from the fall collection. It's a purple-y blue glitter with a lot of silver particles. It's nothing like Essie Starry Starry Night but it is a gorgeous polish that I suggest you grab if you are a glitter lover!
It was very opaque for a glitter, covering in 2 coats but I did 3 for good measure.
I usually can't find a bad thing to say about China Glaze polishes and this is no exception!

China Glaze Recycle & Finger Paints Motley

1

Today's NOTD is China Glaze Recycle (core) with a coat of Finger Paint's Motley, which is one of their new flakie topcoats!

Recycle is a beautiful colour but I'm not really loving it on me. Motley on the other hand is beautiful! It flashes mainly blue and green and it is a really fine flakie, definitely some of the smallest pieces I've worked with. I really dig the subtleness of it.
Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!
Please comment with any requests of things you would like to see!

Now THIS screams Christmas!

Isn't it beautiful?

This is China Glaze's Ruby Pumps and Wet N' Wild Prancer.

Snowy nails with Frosty

0

This is two coats of China Glaze Frosty over 2 coats of China Glaze Snow. I never really cared for white polishes but these got such great reviews that I hunted them down (ended up having to order from head2toe). I must say though that I am so glad I did! They're both lovely polishes and will be making an appearace again before Christmas, I'm sure!

The second picture shows off the shimmer best!

Two turtle doves...

This is China Glaze's Mrs. Claus over Essie's Limited Addiction. This looked amazing!

Nothing like Ruby Pumps for sure. It is what I wanted Mrs. Claus to be.

On the first day of Christmas....

0

The malls are busy, the stores have their Christmas Garb out full-fledged and of course the cosmetic brands have their Christmas collections out! Here is the first of MANY holiday manicures!

Here is the first that I wore, the beautiful China Glaze Emerald Sparkle.

And then just for fun I decided to try it with various top coats (this was just before I removed my mani:

Thumb - Pinky: China Glaze Party Hearty, WnW Prancer, WnW Comet, China Glaze Golden Enchantment and SH Urban Chic.

Nail Haul and a NOTD :)

0

I've been slacking lately, sorry for the lack of posts!
I received this haul of beauties the other day from a blog sale!

Left to right: China Glaze DV8, OPI DS Sapphire, OPI DS Signature, China Glaze How About A Tumble and Nubar Reclaim
Yep. More holos. Can't help it, they're just so gorgeous!
I used Reclaim right away and did a mani using it on my fingers and China Glaze's L8R G8R on my thumbs, stamping the frogs using a Coraline plate with the Reclaim polish. Love these colours!

I purchased these form a lovely lady named Annie from a sale on her blog. Check her out at Nailstah. She does daily posts of nail polish swatches and reviews!

Leopard Holo NOTD

0

Here is my latest Konading adventure, also involving a China Glaze holo from the OMG collection - LOL (dark purple holographic polish - it's sooo pretty!!) and plate M57 again with the black special polish.

I love the look of this mani but I find a lot of the holos lose much of their holo-ness with topcoats, so next time I am going to try only using one on top of the konad design (I usually paint one coat over the base polish). I also tried out a treatment called Repair by the same brand that makes Seche Vite and I think it might have contributed to some of the problems I had. Ah well, it's a work in progress!!

And Look! It matches my phone case!

First Konadicure

0

So in short, my first attempt at Konad was an epic fail. Partly due to my impatience, partly due to the fact that it is not as easy as it looks!
I initially attempted to do a lime green with black zebra. I was using Finger Paints' 'Guggen I'm Lime', Konad Black Special Polish and Plate M57. First of all, the Lime base was quite thin and required SEVERAL coats. I wasn't patient enough and when I went to stamp, the whole nail base basically slid right off. So I decided to try a different green, using OPI's Who The Shrek Are You? Again, not patient enough.

So I took a break and baked some yummy rainbow cupcakes for my boss' birthday. Then it
was back to my nails while watching Teen Mom (so addicted to this show!!)

This was the result, using China Glaze's For Audrey, Konad white Special Polish, plate M57 (this time the fishnet pattern). I then added some flowers from another plate and a cat from one of the Coraline plates.

The big problem was that in my frustration, I was too lazy to really clean the edges, so there is still some green residue around the nails. It takes some practice, that's for sure! Going to try to do Zebra again tonight, this time over China Glaze's OMG (just got it in the mail! Will be recording a nail polish haul video in the next few days, just waiting for one more package to arrive!)

I do really like the cat though :)

This picture really shows how much of a mess my nails are! Stay tuned for Day #2!
