Revlon Whimsical

0

First off, let me just express my love for Revlon. Their polishes are great quality, inexpensive (and forever on sale!) and I just love love love how they keep putting out dupes for high end polishes, especially Deborah Lippmann and Chanel!

Revlon Whimsical is a dupe for Deborah Lippmann's Glitter In The Air (I don't have the polish for comparison but I'm sure you will find side by side comparisons if you google it). It's a sheer blue-ish base with larger blue and pink/salmon hex glitters and smaller, square silver glitter. In the picture I am wearing it over Essie's Something Borrowed to bring out the blue base. I've seen some gorgeous pictures of it over white too@

This polish got tons of attention from muggles! I had a lot of cashiers and friends notice it! If you can get your hands on this baby, I recommend it!

Butter London - Branwen's Feather

0

Hello Lovelies :)
This is the first Butter London polish that I have tried. I've looked at their displays at Ulta whenever I get to one accross the border but didn't purchase until I found a display of them at The Bay! It's nice to see more and more brands coming to Canada! I bought two, I haven't worn the second one yet (Lady Muck) but I expect you will see it posted in the next couple of weeks! They retail for $17CAD which is a little pricey but I can see myself grabbing a few more yet!

The polish looks almost black on the nail, but it is actually purple, as you can see in the bottle shot. It wore fairly well besides for the shrinking caused by Seche Vite. The application was great, covered well in two coats. Overall I like the polish even though it's not really that exciting or unique.
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I have more posts coming up this week!

OPI Designer... De Better!

0

Another Muppets polish (I think I've just about worn them all now)! Love this one, so bright and sparkly. It has copper glitter to it too which keeps it from just being a plain old silver foil. Love this polish!

Essence Holographics - Blue Ray

0

This is the only Essence polish I own and I really like it! The application was good, brush was decent and I think I only paid $2-$3 for this on my last trip down to the US.
The pictures don't do it justice - it is a gorgeous blue - purple duochrome.

China Glaze Skyscraper!

0

Here is China Glaze Skyscraper from the fall collection. It's a purple-y blue glitter with a lot of silver particles. It's nothing like Essie Starry Starry Night but it is a gorgeous polish that I suggest you grab if you are a glitter lover!
It was very opaque for a glitter, covering in 2 coats but I did 3 for good measure.
I usually can't find a bad thing to say about China Glaze polishes and this is no exception!

Finger Paints Asylum & OPI Road House Blues

0

Hello lovelies!
I have not forgotten you, but I have been house sitting and didn't have wireless to work from my laptop! But I still photographed each mani (and will post each in its own post).
Here is the first, which is Finger Paints Asylum, my favorite flakie from their new Effects collection (which is unfortunaly probably sold out in most places) over OPI Road House Blues from the fall collection. It's similar to OPI Sapphire In The Snow but definitely leans more blue while SiTS leans more purple.

I loved this mani so much I wore it for like 4-5 days until it was chipped like crazy!
Hope you enjoyed!

China Glaze Recycle & Finger Paints Motley

1

Today's NOTD is China Glaze Recycle (core) with a coat of Finger Paint's Motley, which is one of their new flakie topcoats!

Recycle is a beautiful colour but I'm not really loving it on me. Motley on the other hand is beautiful! It flashes mainly blue and green and it is a really fine flakie, definitely some of the smallest pieces I've worked with. I really dig the subtleness of it.
Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!
Please comment with any requests of things you would like to see!

GOSH Purple Heart & Essie Shine Of The Times

0

This polish has been sitting in my untrieds for probably over a year. Figured it was time to finally bust it out!

It's a lovely purple-green duochrome, nearly a one coater! I used Essie Luxe Effects in Shine Of The Times as an accent! Love me some flakies! Expect to see the Fingerpaints ones coming up soon :)

Nicki Minaj for OPI

0

This was my manicure for much of this week - I just couldn't get enough of it! This is OPI Metallic 4 Life from the Nicki Minaj collection. I bought this and Save Me (which was my New Years Eve mani - I have pics of it somewhere). Really impressed with it!

Love this polish! Definitely a hit for OPI!

2012: A year of sucking less

0

I suck. Plain and simple; I suck! I can't believe it's been almost a year since I last blogged!!

One of my New Years resolutions was to blog more, so here I am. I am actually working on a project inspired by sayanythingbr00ke on youtube - she recently posted a video of all the nail polishes she has worn this year and it inspired me to make an effort to actually photograph and post every single manicure I do this year! (I also plan to compile them into a slideshow).

So here is my first manicure of 2012:

This is Revlon ColorStay in Midnight.

I absolutely love this polish, the formula was fantastic, it was almost a one coater, just needed a second coat to even out a few places. It's worn really well, no chips two days in and is still nice and glossy! Will be changing it tonight though, I try to re-do my nails every other night.
That's all for now!
Hope everyone had a lovely holiday :)
