China Glaze Smoke & Ashes

0

This was the first of the China Glaze Hunger Games polishes that I wore and let me say, son I am disappoint. I was so excited about these polishes as I am a HUGE fan of the books and you betcha I have tickets to the movie tonight! This polish was just a little disappointing.

This looks like a beautiful dark teal with lots of green-teal-blue sparkle but I found it fairly boring on the nail, nothing that special, and most of the time it was hard to tell if it was anything more than a basic black.

It's one redeeming quality? This is a one coater.

More manicures from the Hunger Games line to follow!

LA Girls Color Addict in Deep Sea Mica

0

I was pleasently surprised by this polish. I know LA Girls are very easy to find in the US but until recently I hardly ever saw them in the wild. I picked this one up at Suzy Sheir of all places!

It's a beautiful, rich deep teal shimmer. The second picture is a little misleading, it's not really a duochrome polish at all. I absolutely loved this manicure though, application was great in 2 coats.

Avon Loving Lavender + Pure Ice Busted

0

I'm not usually one for pastels but I really loved the colour of this polish. Avon polishes are not talked about a lot but they really are beautiful and are of fantastic quality and value.

This is Loving Lavender from their new polishes for spring/summer. I topped with Pure Ice Busted to add a little extra shimmer.

The application on this was great, 2 coats to perfection and one coat of Busted.

Please bear with me!

A-England Dragon

0

This beautiful polish is A-England Dragon. A-England is a UK brand that you can either purchase from their website (with free world wide shipping!) or some online retailers are carrying it now (Llarowe and Ninja Polish). I have purchased both from A-Englands site and Llarowe in the past with no issues.

This is two coats of this beauty but it really was fine with just one but I always do holo sandwiches to extend the wear of my holo (BC + Holo + TC + Holo), this way you have the protection of the topcoat but none of the dulling effects. I have never found a topcoat that doesn't dull a holo and I'm too impatient for anything that is not quick drying!

Unfortunately this photo was taken using artificial lighting but it was a beauty in the sun! The holo effect is not as strong in the A-Englands as I've seen in other polishes though.

China Glaze Some Like It Haute

1

This is a gorgeous polish!

This was released with the China Glaze Eye Candy collection that came out around the holidays. It was a great collection of glitters!

This was 3 good coats to get the polish opaque. It was a little bit goopy but worth it! The only problem with that is that it makes the polish thick on your nails and then it chips a bit easier. If you're like me and change your nails every 2 days or so, this isn't an issue.

Sally Hansen has an exact dupe for this polish with the Gem Crush collection called Glitz Gal.

OPI Have You Seen My Limo?

0

This is an oldie OPI, and one that is much sought after. Quite honestly, I don't get the hype. It's pretty but not overly unique and not as duochrome as I was expecting. That being said, the application was great and I had no issues with the polish itself, I just don't think it's a polish I will be reaching for again any time in the near future.
